This Year's Pride Month Losing Steam?

Does this year’s Pride Month seem a little lackluster compared to previous years? The LGBTQ… base will always be fueled up this time of year to publicly self-indulge. June is their major holiday, which seems like a combination of Halloween and Christmas for them. But besides the base, much steam seems to have been lost among the bandwagon companies and virtue-signaling individuals who previously applauded the movement so enthusiastically. I guess you can only clap loudly for so long. And frankly the LGBTQ… base is making it harder for ordinary people to even clap at all.

I was thinking the other day of how Pride Month immediately follows Memorial Day. It seems so apropos in juxtaposing how very different these two are. One takes the day to commemorate our fallen soldiers while the other takes an entire month to essentially celebrate themselves. One is rooted in gratitude while the other is rooted in narcissism.

There’s nothing wrong with the LGBTQ… base being proud or wanting to celebrate themselves but choosing to devote an entire month for that is super self-absorbed and actually is indicative of a larger issue at hand. This prolonged celebration is intended to normalize their movement, which includes normalizing things like men in women’s sports,  men in women’s locker rooms, etc. They’ve even normalized the word “Pride” to be directly associated with their movement. This word existed long before the formation of LGBTQ… and has been used in so many contexts yet we immediately think of them when hearing the word. “Pride & Joy” is such an old school term but many people think my company is some sort of gay brand from the name alone. I’ve often thought about changing the name because of this.

But the tide is turning. I believe many everyday Americans are becoming jaded by the excessive celebration, woke politics, and the ever-increasing denominations. The fact that they keep adding letters and colors speaks to their narcissism. And we—the people outside the movement—simply don’t care. We see one another as fellow Americans not as one of the various letters of LGBTQ… or colors of the rainbow flag. We are all Americans, which the American flag represents. That is the real pride flag.
