I Bought a New Truck

I bought a new truck. Well actually it’s a 2020 with a salvage title but it’s pretty new for me. My last truck was a 2003 Toyota Tacoma I bought in 2019 for $8,000. I’ve never spent more than $10,000 on a vehicle. It’s always been what I’ve been able to afford. This time I just saved a little more.

When I told my mom I was buying the truck she asked me how much it was. $21,000. She responded “You have the money?!” I said Yes. She then asked “You were able to save $21,000?” I nodded and she said “That’s really good.” My mom being both surprised and impressed made me think a lot about my life career-wise. I’ve always had big dreams and high expectations and her reaction reminded me of how little I’ve accomplished thus far. I am still a waiter like the many actors in the City of Dreams. But her reaction also made me feel good. It was the first time I did something financially that she was impressed by. And it made me think about if I could ever one day accomplish my goals; my dreams. If Pride & Joy were ever to become successful. How proud would she be? How much could I give back to my parents? How much could I give back to the world?
